Pulp Mill - Granite Roller
 Introduction:
A granite sleeve is glued to the outside of the roller.
Logs are force fed against the revolving roller surfaces reducing
them to pulp.
Problem: The shaft bearing diameters were worn.
Solution: Plasmasprayed with Ni-Cr-Mo and Al powder.
After spraying, the bearings were machine finished to their
original size.
Results: Significant cost savings. The Plasmaspray
repairs cost only $6,000 whereas a new roller would have cost
considerably more. Turn around time for the whole job was
only two days.
