Paper Mill - Suction Roller
 Introduction:
The solid bronze suction roller weighs 12 tonnes and has
a surface covered in tapered holes. Suction inside the roller
reduces moisture from the paper.
Problem: A loose foreign object created a 6mm deep
groove on the inside diameter of the roller.
Solution: Arcsprayed coating of Aluminium Bronze.
Roller then machined back to original size.
Results: The repair was completed in three days at
a cost of only $12,000 whereas a new roller would have been
extremely expensive.
